Ethical Design

When working on a design or media central project in our current day and age, it is essential to know and understand the weight of such on each and every group within our community. In relation to the Indigenous community of Australia, this means having the proper knowledge and understanding of the culture, as well as ensuring one has the resources to reach out and receive the proper guidance. The ‘Australian Indigenous Design Charter’ was put in place for this very reason, and provides all designers with said guidance in relation to creating ethical, appropriate, and inclusive designs. In our current society, having and maintaining a deep awareness and respect of the land we live on, the people who live on it, and the culture that resides within it is what will ensure we progress in the most positive direction for all within our community and our environment.
